Head of Events Delivery

We are looking for an authentic, self motivated individual with a 'can-do' attitude to join our team to deliver our busy schedule of events.

We are a small, independently owned family business offering a unique role to be a part of a busy, passionate and creative team who host daily events and hospitality experiences.

This is the perfect role for anyone who loves events and who has a great passion for food, drink and hospitality with a clear understanding and enjoyment of this industry.

With this in mind -this is not a role for someone who is looking for a 9-5 weekday job or for anyone who is looking to be solely desk based!

You will be responsible for Front of House and the Bar Team alongside The Bar Manager at The Mowbray and The Chimney House as well as being ‘hands on’ during service. You will also work directly with our Head of House and Events Assistant.

Our events span from weekday meetings/conferences and smaller private dining to 150 seated weddings and private dining events to sell out supper clubs at the weekends. Our House events series also include our popular Up On The Roof feasts.

Excitingly the role in time expands to include full involvement to deliver our third site - another restoration of another iconic Sheffield property into a brand new concept. This is another exciting chance to make your mark in the hospitality and events industry and plenty of scope to develop your career both personally and professionally.

We offer great rates of pay and an excellent bonus structure based on performance as well as the chance to work in beautiful venues and as part of a like minded, creative and close knit team working towards a common goal which is to deliver world class events.

This is a full time salaried  role - and you must have 2-3 years proven experience of working in restaurant and events environments and a genuine desire to jump head and heart first into our business and to hit the ground running.

Your willingness to dedicate time, effort and energy to making this role your own is incredibly important to us - as is total transparency and honesty. It’s an incredibly exciting time and with that - an amazing chance to take a positive step forward in your career.

This Position Involves

Hands on ‘operational’ event delivery through weekdays and weekends.

You will be responsible for the delivery and hosting of large events from weddings to supper clubs with a full team to smaller events which you may host as an individual.

Event team management including recruitment, training and incentivising performance.

Daily administration and office duties

Key holder responsibilities and overseeing events - including set up and venue styling - up to the end of event and breakdown

Responsibility for the bar and working alongside the Bar Manager to deliver a high standard of service and exceptional experience. Together you will oversee the care and cleaning of both venues.

You will also work alongside The Mowbray Kitchen to ensure a flawless event experience for our customers with our seasonality and ingredient led ethos at the heart of everything we do.

Liaising and working with our customers to create their perfect event - plus you will assist and look after viewings and consultations across both venues on evenings and weekends

You will also become an integral part of our busy wedding schedule from consultations to planning through to being responsible for delivering 5 star wedding and lifestyle experiences.

About You

We are looking for a great personality, someone who is well presented and who takes great pride in their work.

You must be an excellent ‘all-rounder’ - self motivated and highly organised individual who values beautiful environments, exacting customer service and understands the commercial side of the business.

You must have a genuine passion for food, wine and cocktails and be able to talk knowledgeably and confidently about these integral parts of our business.

You will have the natural ability to lead a team, have a team player attitude and understand how to deliver a fantastic experience for our customers.

You must be able to report, forecast and be responsible for your own targets and those of your team.

You will also have the ability to look beyond the day to day and look at the bigger picture for the business.

You must be computer literate, be able to demonstrate great organisational skills, great on the phone and be a genuine people person!

Many of our events are in the evenings and at the weekend - so you must be able to wholeheartedly embrace this - without exception - and get ready to be plunged into the busy and rewarding world of events.

You will work with and report into senior management.

Details of the salary will be given on application and will be reflective of your experience.

Place of Work

Your day to day will be in two beautiful and creative environments which are busy, bustling, vibrant and very much people centric so we are looking for someone with a passion and commitment for great service and customer experience.

You will also spend time working in the multi award winning design studio 93ft which is based above The Mowbray and where our senior management team are headquartered.

Delivering events at both The Chimney House and The Mowbray means you must have the ability to work flexible hours, including day, night and weekends.
