We are an independently owned events business offering the chance to be a part of a busy, passionate and creative team. Our events span from private dining to weddings and sell out supper clubs hosted in three restored historic buildings in Neepsend and Kelham Island - The Mowbray, The Chimney House and The Victoria - opening Autumn 2024

We’re looking for a passionate, dedicated and talented events Bar Manager, to deliver operational excellence, train and develop our team of bartenders and events team, instil effective systems and take a lead role in progressing our offering and delivering a fantastic experience for our guests, maximising our potential at all times.

This is the perfect role for anyone looking to level up their career, with a demonstrable passion and expertise for cocktails, interesting wines, spirits, beers, and all aspects of our offering. You must be enthusiastic with a genuine enjoyment of this industry.

You must have a minimum of 2 years of bar management experience working to a high standard, with a minimum of 3-5 years in hospitality.

You must be hard working and well versed in…

Team leadership and training/ Stock Management and Ordering / Financial reconciliation and Invoicing/ Set up and break down of a busy cocktail bar / Cellar and Venue Supervision / Senior Management experience.

Set up / Break down of a bar / good knowledge of spirits and drinks and proven experience of making cocktails to an exceptionally high standard

The role will initially be overseeing our bar at The Mowbray, with a fast-tracked progression to a multi-site role when we open our new, beautiful venue The Victoria, in Autumn 2024. You will work closely with our Operations Manager, Events Delivery management team, and our Head of Commercial and Bookings Team. There are exciting progression opportunities for those looking to expand and develop the role.

You must be flexible, and available to work a variety of shifts across daytimes, evenings, and weekends.

A driving licence and access to a car is advantageous.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Weekly stock takes, reporting to the Operations Manager, and placing daily and weekly orders across different suppliers.

Completing daily and weekly due diligence checklists, to ensure hygiene, health and safety, and general business compliance.

Working closely with our suppliers, and maximising the potential of these relationships

Ensuring strict compliance to licensing requirements, challenge 25, and training and empowering the bar team to follow.

Organising staff training for product knowledge, and technique, and overseeing training records.

Working with the Events Delivery manager to recruit, and schedule staff.

Working with the Bookings team to increase spend-per-head, and boost pre-order sales, and ensuring pre-ordered drinks are delivered correctly to an extremely high quality.

Equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.

Train, supervise, and motivate bar staff to deliver outstanding service

Keyholding and shift management.

Develop and implement strategies to drive sales and exceed revenue targets and KPIs

Handle customer feedback and resolve any issues promptly

Contracted 40 hours per week

£32000 (includes £2000 potential performance related bonus)
